Sliema is a town located along the North East coast of Malta. It is densely populated and a hub for activity. Many offices, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants are dotted around the town as well as many high-rise buildings and apartment blocks which line the coastal promenade. The Sliema promontory stretches for a few kilometers and now joins the adjacent towns of St. Julians and Gzira with a promenade that leads all around the coast to Valletta.
Once a fishing village and home to the wealthier aristocrats in Malta who had beautiful property around the coast which was mainly used as summer residences, Sliema has seen vast changes over the last 50 years with many of the stately villas and town houses which were icons of Sliema being replaced by Life style Developments, modern apartment blocks and commercial establishments.
