BOOK A VIEWING
St Julian’s, an old fishing village and a renowned seaside resort, developed around the Chapel of St Julian built in 1580 in an area where many Knights of the Order of St John had hunting lodges. St Julian’s overlooks a delightful bay. The typical narrow streets of the town wind up along the rise of the coast.
Spinola Palace dominates the bay and is surrounded by a lovely garden. The palace dates from 1688 and was the summer residence of the Genoese knight Paolo Raffaello Spinola who was the bailiff of the Order. In the 18th century the palace was renovated under the direction of the famous architect Romano Carapecchia. During the Second World War it was used as a military hospital.
Today, Spinola Bay is one Malta’s most picturesque corners and features several fine restaurants which enjoy a romantic setting with a view of the pretty bay. Properties in St. Julian’s vary from apartments, penthouses and maisonettes to unique houses of character which were the first properties built in the area. As the demand for property in the area increased, so did the development. St. Julian’s now adjoins the popular town of Sliema as is just as much sought after. It is close to nightlife and all amenities including a large supermarket. A vibrant place to live.
