Christie's International Real Estate Malta Sponsors The King's Birthday Celebration

Christie's International Real Estate Malta was honoured to sponsor this year's King's Birthday Celebration, hosted by British High Commissioner Her Excellency Vic Busby OBE at her residence in Naxxar on 18th June. Our Managing Director, Miguel Bonello, and co-founder, Annabelle Bonello Lowell, were joined by members of the Christie's International Real Estate Malta team throughout the evening, presenting small gifts to guests as part of the celebration.

The evening brought together figures from Malta's diplomatic, business and cultural communities in the gardens of the High Commissioner's residence, with a programme that reflected the warmth and closeness of the relationship between Malta and the United Kingdom. Among the highlights of the evening, Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja performed the national anthems, and Aidan, who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with his song Bella, took to the stage as part of the celebration, giving the evening a distinctly Maltese character alongside its British occasion.

It was a particularly fitting evening for the Christie's International Real Estate Malta team to be part of. The King's Birthday Celebration exists to mark the closeness of the relationship between Malta and the United Kingdom, and Christie's International Real Estate Malta carries a British name and heritage of its own, one that the Bonello Lowell family have built into a genuinely Maltese business over the years. Representing a firm that originated in Britain, at an occasion celebrating the ties between the two countries, felt like a natural and honourable fit, and it was a pleasure for the whole team to be part of the evening on that basis.

Christie's International Real Estate Malta operates as the exclusive local affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate, and the Bonello Lowell family have built the business around the same principle that runs through the wider Christie's name, bringing together internationally recognised British heritage with genuine local knowledge of the Maltese market. Being asked to support an occasion that celebrates the long-standing ties between Malta and the United Kingdom felt like a natural extension of that identity.
